  2. SetupAgree the schemaYou approve the fields, tags, and XML or JSON schema.

When automated data collection is the right choice And when a one-off collection or web research fits better

A good fit when

  • The same sources need checking every day or every week
  • Your team rekeys data from sites or PDFs into your systems
  • You need the data in a fixed schema, such as XML for a content system

Look elsewhere when

  • You need one list once, which a single collection run covers
  • Each record needs a researcher to find it by hand
  • The source changes its layout faster than any rule could follow

Automated data collection services in detail What the pipeline does at each stage, and what you receive

Automated web data collection

Agents visit each website on the schedule you set, compare it with the last run, and capture what's new or changed. A price change, a new filing, or a removed listing arrives as a record, not as a page you have to read.

When a site changes its layout, the agent flags it and a person updates the rules the same day.

Accurate data extraction from documents

Much of the data you need arrives as files: invoices, purchase orders, claims, receipts, and scanned forms. Agents read each document with OCR and AI models and fill the fields you need.

Any field the agent isn't sure of goes to a person, who checks it against the document.

Data cleaning and formatting

Raw data rarely fits your system as it arrives. We set dates, currencies, names, and addresses to one format, remove duplicates, and fill gaps from the source where we can.

Data tagging and structured XML

For content systems and AI training, structure matters as much as the data. We tag each item with its metadata, link it to its source, and deliver schema-valid XML or JSON that loads without rework.

  • Metadata on every item, such as source, date, and topic
  • Links back to the original page or file
  • Validation against your schema before every load

Public and private data, in one pipeline

The same pipeline can take public web data, open datasets, and your own files from a document system. Everything comes out in one structure, ready for your CRM, CMS, or relational database.

Questions about automated data collection What buyers ask us before they start

What is automated data collection?

Automated data collection uses software to gather data from websites, documents, and systems without someone copying it by hand. At Damco, AI agents do the collecting and converting, and a person reviews every record the agents can't decide.

Is automated data collection accurate?

It's as accurate as the checks around it. Every record is tested against your rules, and any record that fails goes to a person before delivery. One named batch owner signs off each run.

Which formats can you deliver?

CSV, Excel, JSON, and XML to your schema, or a direct load into your CRM, CMS, or database. We agree the format and schema before the first run.

What happens when a website changes?

The agent notices that the page no longer matches the rules and stops that source rather than sending bad data. A person updates the rules, reruns the source, and notes the change in the run report.

How is automated data collection priced?

We price per record or per source, with a setup fee for each new source. You pay for data delivered, not for hours or software licenses.
